Talk: ‘The Heart of the Quran: The core spiritual and moral messages in the early Surahs’
Content: These five Surahs known as the ‘ancient ones,’ are placed at the heart of the Quran for a reason. They contain within them the most essential and universal teachings of Islam. Each Surah among them focuses on one main theme, mainly revolving around the loving relationship between God and people (love of God, desire for God above all else, nearness to God, God’s gifts to those whom He loves), guidance, and the most important moral and ethical teachings.
