Poems of Divine Love ~ Poetry Writing Workshop w/ Sukina Pilgrim
For many February is regarded as the month of love. On the 14th of the month couples gather to engage in acts of romance; candle-lit dinners, heart-shaped chocolates and a dozen red roses are given, corny love poems are written and everybody is talking about love.
But what kind of love are they talking about exactly? Is there more than one type of love and if so what are these various forms of love and what can we learn from them? What is the difference between romantic love and the love that poets such as Hafiz and Rumi speak of?
This workshop is about Poems of Divine Love, poems that articulate a spiritual form of love; a love of the Divine, a love from the Divine and a love for the Divine. We will look into what the term ‘love’ meant for the poets who wrote about it, we will look at the texts of some of the most prolific writers of Divine Love and we will explore our own experiences and participants will experiment with expressing Divine Love through their own poetry.
This workshop is designed to assist writers to express, explore and experiment writing their own poems of Divine Love.
You will gain:
*Writing Skills and Techniques
*Creative Writing exercises
You will leave with 2/3 pieces of poetry.
