In April 2016, Baber & Will went on an expedition of a lifetime to Iceland. It was a three week journey of trekking and wild camping in the most remotest parts of Iceland in very challenging conditions.
It was a personal journey of seeking spiritual growth as well as raising funds for Rumi’s Cave and sharing their love for the outdoors and spirituality to inspire others. The theme was ‘Nature & Spirituality – Seeking God in Creation’
We invite you to Rumis Cave to see a short film (10-15 min) about their expedition and to have a conversation about their reflections on themes to do with the nature, spirituality and faith.
We look forward to welcoming you to what has been an eagerly awaited and very exciting evening!
Baber has been hiking since 2000 mainly in the UK.
He enjoys visiting the National Parks in Wales, England & Scotland and does hill, mountain and ridge walking.
He did his Mountain Leadership training at the National Mountain Centre Plas y Brenin.
He’s organised several hikes with friends from Yorkshire & Lancashire for large groups (~30-50 people) to introduce people to the outdoors and activities such as abseiling and gorge walking.
Recently, he’s been Dog Sledding in the arctic areas of Kauppinen and Väkkäräjärvilapland for charity.
He’s been hiking in Morocco and rock climbing in Turkey. And has climbed Mount Tochal & Mount Damavand in the Alborz Mountain range, Iran with MSFI and Krzysztof Wielicki.

Will has been hiking since 2004 mostly in France and the UK.
He enjoys full autonomy hiking up to 7 days without resupply and has crossed this way the Ecrins mountains range (Alps), Vercors (Alps) and Las Bardenas desert (Spain).
He crossed in full autonomy the Vanoise range (Alps) while fasting during Ramadan in the Summer of 2011….
During these trips he would walk up to 8 hours a day with 20 kgs bag plus film/photography equipment (7 kgs).
Nature is part of his spiritual journey. One of the most memorable experiences for Will was when he was in French Guiana in the tropical forest on the Maroni river in 2008 and 2010.
